JoB Description

The Friendship Circle is seeking a Marketing Specialist that will be responsible for implementing marketing campaigns through print, digital and social platforms.

This is a Part-Time position that will be appointed by the Executive Director and will report to the Marketing and Outreach Coordinator.



  • Execute Digital Content - Website and Social Media Platforms
    • Create Social Media content including:
      • Videos
      • Images
      • Graphics
    • Schedule and post social media content - create captions, add tags
      • In house content
      • Links/shares
      • 3rd Party Videos
    • Run social media ad campaigns
    • Research social media algorithms and user engagement trends
    • Analyze the effectiveness of posts and impressions, conversions and views
    • Create strategies to improve user engagement
    • Update content on website to reflect current messaging
      • Homepage banners
      • Forms
      • Images-including media library
    • SEO for website
  • Manage Promotional Materials
    • Research trends in promotional items
    • Track cost on various high demand items
    • Design graphics for promotional items
    • Order and process all promotional items
    • Track inventory of all promotional items
  • Manage Print Media
    • Create printed items such as: brochures, flyers, postcards, posters, calendars, business cards, etc.
    • Order or print all materials
    • Manage stock of materials
    • Research brand building strategies and make recommendations for strategic improvements in engagement.
  • Manage Communications
    • Create and schedule all weekly communications to active members including:
      • Emails
      • Mass text message
      • Phone calls
    • Create supplementary materials for outreach presentations




  • Implement strategic marketing campaign goals
  • Help assure that Friendship Circle inquiries are met in a professional, timely, and consistent manner
  • Manage marketing schedule and calendar to ensure campaigns run in a timely fashion
  • Other duties as assigned and mutually negotiated



  • BA Preferred
  • Experience working in the marketing field
  • Open mind to experience the world from a new perspective
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite
  • Proficiency with Adobe Suite or equivalent
  • Proficiency with video editing tools
  • Proficiency with social media platforms
  • Superior ability to organize, prioritize, and estimate project logistics
  • Ability to work independently and with a team, easily moving back and forth
  • Ability to complete projects efficiently and at high quality level
  • Ability to deal in a professional, warm manner with potential donors, families, clients, and staff
  • Ability to work nights and Sundays occasionally

Where are the Level 5 Leaders?

Having just finished teaching a class on governance where we talk about the should haves and the ought tos, as well as the realities, the one that has grabbed my attention this round is the paucity of quality leaders—at both the paid and volunteer levels.  In so many ways, leaders are, for the most part, at best average, and at worst well below.
