JoB Description

The Central Association of the Miraculous Medal (CAMM) in the East Germantown section of Philadelphia is seeking an experienced Institutional Advancement Coordinator to support its office by conducting research of potential and major donors, grant opportunities and assisting with the moves management process to aid in the achievement of fundraising goals for CAMM. This position will also provide administrative support, internal and external written and verbal communications as well as provide support for the Matching Gift program, donor acknowledgement processes and special events. Candidates should also be comfortable with using relevant net-worth and donor-related software programs.

This is a full-time position with benefits, reporting to our Director of Institutional Advancement. The successful candidate should be able to work independently, have excellent written and verbal communication skills, be well organized, self-motivated, detail-oriented, able to analyze and interpret data, set priorities, and multi-task. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is essential; knowledge of Prezi would be a plus. A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is required with a minimum of three years’ experience in donor prospect research or sales support. Candidates must be of the Catholic faith and have an understanding of commonly-used Catholic terminology.

Our mission at CAMM is to help continue the work of St. Vincent De Paul by supporting the ministry of the priests and brothers who follow in his footsteps. For over 100 years, CAMM has been dedicated to spreading devotion to Mary Immaculate and her Miraculous Medal, helping the formation and education of seminarians, providing care to the aged and infirm Vincentian Priests and Brothers of the Eastern Province, and supporting programs that provide assistance to the poor.

CAMM oversees the operation of The Miraculous Medal Shrine, home of the Perpetual Miraculous Medal Monday Novena. Located in the East Germantown section of Philadelphia, the Shrine is a sanctuary for prayer, meditation, and pilgrimage to God and to the Blessed Virgin Mary.

Who Do You Trust?

As we approach the last quarter of the year, the three months when, historically, more dollars come to nonprofits than any other three month period, I’m often asked by reporters and regular folk how to determine if a nonprofit is “donation-worthy.” Unfortunately, our job at proving our worthiness got harder last year, as trust in nonprofits continued to drop.  According to Edelman’s annual Trust Barometer (which was released the beginning of this year), people from around the world are losing trust in government, for-profits, nonprofits, and the media.  In the United States, trust in all of these organizations dropped to 43%. .
