JoB Description

Expanding nonprofit is seeking a full time director with a passion for improving lives by eliminating poverty in the Pottstown area.

This is a job for a high-energy community-minded professional with excellent communication and leadership skills to work with a committed board of directors, staff and volunteers. Our mission is lifting people out of poverty through the dignity of work. Job responsibilities include fundraising, leading training workshops, job coaching and developing partnerships with local employers and nonprofits.

Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree with 3 years of program administration and development and a working knowledge of standard administrative principles and strong verbal and written communication skills. Proficient in Microsoft office suite and experience with CRM systems a plus.

The Ethics Sliding Scale

Anyone who reads this blog regularly knows I am all about ethics.  Ethical behavior is the backbone of trust:  it is hard, if not impossible, to trust someone—or some organization—that doesn’t operate from a platform of ethics.  Nothing will erode the trust in someone or in an organization faster than the revelation that s/he/it engaged in unethical behavior.  If you have any doubts about this, just look at the impact of the Great Recession on people’s trust in financial institutions:  according to two researchers from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, in 2009 and 2010, only 44% of.
