JoB Description

The Central Association of the Miraculous Medal (CAMM) in the East Germantown section of Philadelphia is seeking an experienced and proficient Associate Director of Young Adult Ministry. Working with the Senior Executive Director at CAMM, their role will be to develop, implement and administer young adult ministry programs with the assistance of the Vincentian community designed to provide encouragement and spiritual support and direction to its members. Additionally, the Associate Director will oversee the implementation of this vision through personal advocacy, resource creation and allocation and the development of evaluation metrics for assessment.


This position will play a key role in providing leadership and vision to the program. Responsibilities will include arranging workshops, developing educational materials, educating staff members, recruiting volunteers, coordinating necessary outreach services and participating in other activities that will help young Catholic adults grow in their faith.

This is a full-time salaried position with excellent benefits, reporting to the Senior Executive Director (SED). A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in religious education or a comparable theological field is required with a minimum of three to five years’ experience in Catholic youth or young adult ministry. Campus Ministry experience is considered a plus. In addition, the successful candidate will have the following:

  • Excellent communications skills both written and oral
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Firm adherence to and zeal for the teachings of the Catholic Church
  • A passion for ministering to youth and young adults
  • Being a creative thinker who will take initiative to develop new areas of outreach and programs/events


Qualified candidates must be a practicing Roman Catholic who uphold the teaching and traditions of the Catholic Church and possess a sound working knowledge of the Catholic faith and Church hierarchy. Knowledge of contemporary developments in young adult ministry is also critical to this position.

For over 100 years, CAMM has been dedicated to spreading devotion to Mary Immaculate and her Miraculous Medal, helping the formation and education of seminarians, providing care to the aged and infirm Vincentian Priests and Brothers of the Eastern Province, and supporting programs that provide assistance to the poor.

CAMM oversees the operation of The Miraculous Medal Shrine, home of the Perpetual Miraculous Medal Monday Novena. Located in the East Germantown section of Philadelphia, the Shrine is a sanctuary for prayer, meditation, and pilgrimage to God and to the Blessed Virgin Mary.

Weighing the Role of Best Practices in Nonprofits

Over the past several months, I have been struggling with the question of best practices:  whose best practices?  And, do best practices really allow for flexibility and latitude when integrating them into the unique culture that exists in each of our organizations?
