Want to use your passion for communications and marketing to promote devotion to Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal in order to bring people closer to her Son, Jesus Christ? We are looking for a faith-filled, determined, tech-savvy individual, who is creative yet detail-oriented, to help promote and increase awareness of The Central Association of the Miraculous Medal (CAMM) in order to advance our Mission.

Who We Are:
Our Mission at CAMM is simple: to help continue the work of St. Vincent De Paul by supporting the ministry of the priests and brothers who follow in his footsteps. For over 100 years, CAMM has been dedicated to spreading devotion to Mary Immaculate and her Miraculous Medal, helping the formation and education of seminarians, providing care to the aged and infirm Vincentian Priests and Brothers of the Eastern Province, and supporting programs that provide assistance to the poor.
CAMM oversees the operation of The Miraculous Medal Shrine, home of the Perpetual Miraculous Medal Monday Novena. Located in the East Germantown section of Philadelphia, the Shrine is a sanctuary for prayer, meditation, and pilgrimage to God and to the Blessed Virgin Mary. Visitors are also encouraged to enjoy our world-class Art Museum, featuring over 400 historical works of Marian and religious art.

We are located in the East Germantown section of Philadelphia. Applicants who are not local must be willing to relocate.


General Responsibilities:
Assist the Director of Communications with implementation of all marketing and communication initiatives to promote and increase awareness of CAMM and the Miraculous Medal Shrine, devotion to Mary, and support of the Vincentian community:

  • Advertising
    • Create and execute ads using traditional media and website/social media advertising
  • Social Media
    • assist in creation of posts, including event postings, to engage our 2.85 million followers; track response to posts and respond according to data
  • Public Relations
    • write and distribute media alerts and press releases, outreach to media outlets
    • Video and Audio recording and production (creation of video and audio features about the Shrine and CAMM; online streaming of Monday Novena services)
  • Magazine, Newsletters, Weekly Shrine bulletin
    • writing, editing, proofreading of articles; distribution of weekly email newsletters and appeals; printing weekly bulletin for Shrine
  • Website
    • post new items and events; update pages as needed
  • Photography
    • photos of groups and special events as needed
  • Special events
    • assist at events; take photos and broadcast via live-stream or Facebook Live as needed


We are looking for a proactive individual with these attributes:

  • You must have:
    • A Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills
    • Outstanding grammar, punctuation, and spelling (Editing test required at interview)
    • 2-3 years communications, public relations, or marketing experience
    • Knowledge of Catholic teaching and the Catholic Faith
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
    • Proficiency/familiarity with Adobe InDesign and Photoshop
    • Experience using CMS; knowledge of HTML a plus
    • Skill in photography and video/audio production a plus

Advocates for Social Justice

I have been having a lot of conversation with my masters students about the role nonprofits might play in the fight for social justice.  Obviously, there are nonprofits whose explicit mission is all about social justice, working on behalf of a group being denied that essential American promise of the ability to pursue life, liberty and happiness, and all that entails.  For those nonprofits, there is no question, but only up to a point:  the point at which the current fight doesn’t fit within the parameters of their mission.  Then they are in the same boat as the vast majority.
