JoB Description
West Philadelphia Financial Services Institution (WPFSI), a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization, was founded to provide economic development leadership and resources to the West Philadelphia Empowerment Zone (EZ). Often referred to as the “Economic Engine” for the community, WPFSI has had a significant impact on the development of the neighborhoods comprising the EZ.
WPFSI’s financial services (business loan program, loan brokering, home improvement loans) provide capital to the business community to enhance business attraction, retention, and expansion while facilitating resident’s ability to maintain their properties.
The Administrative Assistant will handle general office duties, assist in maintaining accurate records and communicate effectively with all levels of Staff, Board Members and other related personnel. This is a Full time position.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Greet visitors, answer phones, take messages and sort and deliver mail to appropriate staff
- Prepare draft communications (letters, emails, memos, etc.), file and photocopy documents
- Assist Executive Assistant and Accountant in record keeping as assigned
- Keep track of office supplies, office equipment, and vendors
- Complete all duties associated with Monthly Board and other Committee Meetings as assigned by Executive Assistant
- Provide administrative support in absence of Executive Assistant to Executive Director
- Maintain all office paper files as assigned by Executive Assistant and Accountant
- Transcribe and prepare Board Meeting Minutes monthly
- Communicate effectively and clearly with all levels of Personnel and clients
- Complete all assigned Administrative tasks accurately and on time
- Assist Executive Assistant as needed and or other duties as assigned
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
- Two years of clerical experience and show proficiency In Microsoft Office and other related software programs
- Ability to climb stairs and lift up to 75 pounds
- Have good organizational skills and excellent communication abilities
Preferred Skills:
- Experience or interest in Not for Profit Organizations
- Associate’s Degree or Higher
- Social Media Management
