Volunteer Coordinator

JoB Description

The Volunteer Coordinator position is a non-exempt up to 20 hours per week position, with flexible scheduling to accommodate PCRC volunteer needs. The Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for recruiting new volunteers, training, coordinating, and retaining PCRC’s volunteer staff and oversight of the volunteer needs of PCRC.
 

Specific Duties include the following:

  • Oversees volunteer recruitment
  • Responsible for orientation, training and supervision of volunteers
  • Represents PCRC in public speaking at community events to secure volunteers and encourage donations
  • Coordinates volunteer support at PCRC marketing events
  • Maintains accurate record keeping for volunteers and provides reports as required, including report for PCRC Delegate Assembly meetings
  • Coordinates all volunteer recognition events, including board member recognition, community meals and volunteers working at Outreach Center
  • Communicates concerns or issues in a timely fashion to Executive Director regarding areas of responsibility
  • Maintains confidentiality of all information related to clients
  • Interacts with staff, volunteers and clients in a courteous, respectful manner

 

 

Qualifications:

  • Proven ability to work cooperatively with staff and volunteers of all ages, ethnic backgrounds and socioeconomic levels
  • Good organizational and listening skills
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills, including solid computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • The ability to work independently and delegate tasks as needed
  • High school degree or equivalent required
  • Bachelor’s degree from a human services related field preferred
  • Volunteer or other similar management experience is desired
  • Must have valid driver’s license, own transportation and current auto insurance for such vehicle
  • Current child abuse clearance, criminal background check and FBI fingerprint check are required

 

Physical qualifications include ability to lift up to 30 lbs. and to bend, stoop, sit and stand.
